Born and raised in England, Lupin Studio founder and designer Jane Dent Grady held an innate enthusiasm for design from an early age. Visiting cities rich in culture and history throughout Europe and garnering influences from each of the countries in which she has lived, she brings a unique perspective to her work. With a background that includes interior design, graphics, and photography, Jane’s love of pattern and color ultimately inspired her to focus on textile and surface design.
Based in Boston, Lupin Studio designs and makes modern home accessories with graphic patterns, rich hues, and beautiful fabrics. Blending traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, Jane creates and hand-draws each pattern. "I love the little oddities that come with hand-drawing – slightly imperfect shapes and fluid, organic lines.” Textiles are printed using eco-friendly, water based inks here in the United States, and each product is individually cut and sewn by hand in New England.
Lupin Studio is about simplicity, quality, and authenticity. “Whether drawing inspiration from the Scandinavian sensibility I love, the natural landscapes of England, or mid-century art and culture, our textiles add warmth and color to any space. I want our customers to enjoy our products as much as we enjoy designing them!”
Her debut collection, ‘Lakes & Fells’, was inspired by the beautiful English Lake District. And her brand new 2020 collection, 'Streamline' encompasses a modern take on 1930's culture when the Art Deco movement was flourishing. The line currently includes throw pillows, table runners, napkins, tea towels, aprons and blank cards.
